Reformed and reborn once again in 2010 with three of its original members. Based in the Chicago area, 61 Beale Street is a band whose roots remain true to the blues. Originally formed in 2005, we classify ourselves primarily as a Rockin', Hard Edge, Texas Style Blues Band. But you will experience a very diverse mix of blues influences.

You'll hear songs from southern rockin' blues bands like The Allman Brothers Band, Bo Diddely, or the Ozark Mointain Dare Devils, to the more refined classic blues and soulful sounds of Albert Collins, Jr. Wells, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy. Then, don’t be surprised if you hear an occasional swampy tune from Southern Culture on the Skids, Credance Clearwater Revival, Tab Benoit, or Leslie West.

Then there's that hard edge, Texas style, rockin' blues that is so characteristic of 61 Beale Street. Versions of songs by Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, Los Lonely Boys, and the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn are common place. Throw in a few tunes by legends like Eric Clapton, Roy Buchanan, or Led Zeppelin... "oops did I say that out loud". Yes you heard correctly, they have blues roots too, and you're getting an entire cross section of rockin' blues history.

Our new sound is very hard edged guitar, coupled with a searing new harmonica vibe that is carefully woven deepy into every song we perform. Add in a great new bass and rhythm section and there you have it,  61 Beale Street is stronger than ever. We are proud of our blues heritage and it shows.  So join us, come experience the truth in our music, the legacy. The shear power and complexities of the music will set you free.
