Dave Green is the newest member of 61 Beale Street. His musical interests lie pretty much exclusively within the blues and jazz genres. His most recent band ventures include the groups “Clean Slate” and “Audio Fracture”.

Dave's story of his musical beginnings sounds pretty much like the other players in 61, with his friends back in his teens, driven by the shear desire to become involved in a band, any band. So he volunteered to play bass and the rest is history. Back in the 70’s Dave spent time jamming with old-time blues legends Sleepy John Estes and Hammie Nixon on Sleepy John's front porch in Brownsville, Tennessee.

Dave is a classically trained musician, and studied jazz and string bass at the University of Southern Mississippi. Today, he continues his studies in electric bass theory with Chicago bassist and recording artist, John Falstrom. He has recently performed with The Tony Bernard Show.

With a really laid back southern personality, Dave holds down our rhythm section with a steady, in the pocket, precision feel. Next time you’re out to see the band be sure to say hello to Dave, he’s one heck of a player and a great guy.
